In Belgium, a national campaign is launched to raise money for cancer research: #TourneeMinerale. In this campaign, people can be sponsored for not drinking alcohol for the whole month of February 2017. This sponsor money is donated to the national cancer research center. The name of the campaign – Tournée Minéral – comes from the French expression Tournée Générale, which basically means you’re buying the next round of beer; Minéral refers to mineral water.
I created a sponsor website where you can choose to donate money. Those donations will motivate me to go a whole month without alcohol 😉
Unfortunately, the website are only available in Dutch and French. There’s no English available. In this blog post, I’ll guide you through the donation process (if you don’t trust me, you can also translate the page using Google Translate).
My sponsor page is http://idonatefor.cancer.be/projects/koen-verbeeck. At this page, click the large button with the present to start the donation process.
At the next page, you have to choose the amount (either prefixed or custom), enter your details and choose a paying method. In the screenshot, I added the translations of all the fields:
At the next page (of which I forgot to take a screenshot of course), you get a confirmation and you can select to donate anonymously. You’ll also receive a confirmation email (in either Dutch or French).
My goal is to reach 500 euros, which I think should be easily achieved with the help of the #sqlfamily! (we have till 28th February 2017)
