Community Engagements Second Half of 2018 – It’s all about Biml

I have a couple of community engagements coming up in the second half of 2018 and I’d like to share an overview with you. Some might remember my Biml meetup session at the start of this year. Basically I turned this session into two talks: an introduction to Biml and a more advanced talk about Biml (where I mainly discuss code reuse and annotations).

I already gave the beginner session as a webinar for MSSQLTips a couple of weeks back. You can find a recording here. I’m pleased to announce I’ll be giving this session as well at my very first SQL Saturday in Holland! You can find more information here. Make sure to check out it’s amazing schedule!

I’ll be giving the more advanced Biml talk as a webinar for MSSQLTips at the 16th of August at 7PM UTC. You can register here.

Details about the talk:

Beyond the Basics – Take Your Biml Skills to the Next Level

In an earlier webinar the basics of the Biml language were introduced. In this webinar we go one step further and we will take a look at more advanced concepts of Biml:

  • Using annotations to store metadata inside your code
  • How to re-use your BimlScript code
  • How to troubleshoot your BimlScripts

After this webcast, you’ll be able to take your Biml skills to the next level and create more reusable scripts for your toolbox. A working knowledge of Integration Services package development is necessary for this webcast, as well as basic knowledge of the Biml language.

In case you can’t make it to the webinar, I’ll be giving the session also at Dataminds Connect, at the 16th of October in Ghent, Belgium. As usual, they have an awesome line-up of speakers as well. Check it out here.

I hope I’ll catch you at one of these events!
